And tried again and again and it provisions to a Generic user ID with a number after.. The phone I am looking at now says Generic User 8003???? I read online articles and some said if phone is to old they wont provision... The boxes say Manufactured 1/6/20 So dont think they are refurbished etc... Any ideas on what I am doing wrong??

Trio C60 openSIP vs MS Teams version

Hi

What is the difference of the Trio C60 openSIP/Generic product and the MS Teams version?

We haven an openSIP product here and I can select MS Teams as a profile too.

So, what is left to be the difference? I found that the MS Teams version fo the C60 will always start as MS Teams after a factory reset, but other than that, I could not find anything else after a quick look.

Thank you

Configure Polycom vvx 301 phone on Nice InContact

I have worked with the new system vendors support techs & they said to contact Polycom.

I have some Polycom vvx 301 phones which were on another system vendors setup. We are decommissioning the old system. Management wanted to move the phones from the old system to the new system by another vendor.

The phones have had multiple factory resets. The provisioning server, username, and password for the new provider has been entered.

I get <mac>.cfg file not found error.

Old vendor says phones are not locked to their system. The old vendor does not lock phones.
New vendor says phones are locked.

How do we unlock the phone to work on the new system?
How do we get the phones working on the new vendor?

Attached is a zip file with 3 files in it; 1) phone backup, 2) diagnostic file, and 3) log file of the phone I am working with.

Phone Model VVX 301
Part Number 3111-48300-001 Rev:A
MAC Address 64:16:7F:00:7E:CA
UC Software Version 5.9.3.2857
Updater Version 5.9.7.26508

The list of phones have been entered into the new vendor's system & assigned "700" numbers for the new system.

Hello,

I am using a fusionPBX and have Poly phones both VVX 500 and VVX 230

The VVX 500 work fine.  The VVX 230 will place outgoing calls, are registered but will not accept incoming.  Looking at the logs there will be an Invite a Trying and then a 436 Busy.

Attached is a copy of the config template that was used for autoprovision.  All phone are on the same network.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Is it possible on VVX devices to have a popup displayed in the screen of the device after a phone is rebooted,  like a Welcome message.

This is for nomadic users and e911 compliance,   we are looking to have the device warn the user that they need to update there location if they have moved the location of the device

Thanks!

Loading Android Apps on CCX700

Is there a way to add apps to the CCX700 or even access the Android OS? It would seem that as an android based phone, you should be able to access that, there is an apps button but that seems to be limited to a very simple web browser.

Adding Line out prefix to all calls

We have a Vertical phone system and just removed the 9 to dial out option however the Polycom Soundstations are having trouble dialing out. After speaking with the verical rep they said we can dial 880XX where XX is the line out to get a line to dial out. For example if I want to call out from the Polycom's I would dial 880015555551234 just go get outside call. I'm trying to find a way to hard code the 880XX number in the polycom or find a way to allow the polycom to pick a line. Any ideas?

Can you disable the physical hookswitch?

Do you know if you can disable the physical hookswitch on a VVX Media Series phone via the config or some other method?

Perfect world I'd like it so that they can answer the call by lifting the receiver but the call will not hang up when they put it down, they would have to push the 'End Call' Button.

The hookswitch doesn't seem to have a known key id per https://documents.polycom.com/bundle/ucs-ag-5-8-1/page/r-ucs-ag-vvx-600-and-601-business-media-phone...

[Software] VVX UC Software 6.3.1.8427

What’s New in This Release?

Poly Unified Communications (UC) Software 6.3.1.8427 is a release for OpenSIP and Skype for Business deployments.

These release notes provide important information on software updates, phone features, and known issues.

DNS Cache Configuration Update

When you enable the DNS cache restore parameter (dns.cache.dynamicRestore.enable), you can now configure the number of retries the phone attempts before it restores the cache using the

dns.queryRetryCount parameter.

dns.queryRetryCount

0 to 48 - The number of retries that the phone attempts before the cache is restored.

0 - Disable.

4 (default).

Ignore Software Upgrades

You can configure Poly phones to ignore software upgrades using the following options:

● Users can ignore software upgrades until the next synch event.

● Users can ignore subsequent upgrade dialogs.

prov.usercontrol.optionToIgnore

1 - The Ignore and Ignore until next Reboot/Sync softkeys display on the phone’s local interface during a software upgrade alert.

0 (default) - Users can defer software upgrades up to three times.

SNTP Resiliency

Poly phones can try alternate sources for SNTP addresses and offsets if attempts to contact the time server don’t work due to one of the following issues:

● The attempt fails.

● The phone receives invalid or no responses.

Enhanced Failover Configuration Updates

Poly UC Software 6.3.1 includes improvements to failover configuration.

SBC Line Registration

Line registration ensures that the phone maps lines to the session border controller (SBC), based on the DNS response. When you restart the device, it re-executes the initial DNS logic using NAPTR lookup to resolve the appropriate SBC IP addresses.

Fast Failover

This release introduces fast failover. In regular failover, the phone makes four attempts to contact a server before it fails over.

When you set the

reg.<x>.server.<y>.retryMaxCount

parameter to 3, the phone makes only three attempts to contact the server before it tries to register with another server.

Failover from TCP to TLS Crypto Attribute for SRTP

Poly phones support failing over from a TCP connection to a TLS connection. When the phone fails over to the TLS connection, the phone inserts the crypto attribute into the message to the new server to enable SRTP.

SBC List Traversal

In previous releases when SBC failover occurred, the phone restarted SBC selection from a failover proxy list rather than attempting to connect with an SBC of the same weight and priority. In this release, the phone uses the weight and priority configured in the DNS record to select the new SBC.

Enhanced Failover Configuration Parameters

Use the following parameters to configure enhanced failover features.

voIpProt.SIP.outboundProxy.failOver.enhanced.enable

1 - Enable Line to SBC mapping and SBC list traversal.

0 (default) - Disable.

voIpProt.SIP.tcpFastFailover.timeout

2000-5000 - Define the time to wait before failing over to the next IP in the list of records resolved by the DNS server applicable only before the TCP connection establishment. 5000 (default).

AES 256 Encryption for SRTP Support

Poly phones support 2 methods of AES-256 Media encryption: GCM and ICM.

sec.srtp.offer.AES_GCM_256

1 - Enable AES-256 GCM Encryption for SRTP Support.

0 (Default) - Disable.

sec.srtp.offer.AES_ICM_256

1 - Enable AES-256 ICM Encryption for SRTP Support.

0 (Default) - Disable.

Appending Strings to the User Agent Header

Poly phones allow user agent header strings to accept alphanumeric and special characters up to 256 characters total.

voIpProt.SIP.header.userAgentAppendString

0-256 - Characters allowed in the user agent header string.

Example:

voIpProt.SIP.header.userAgentAppendString="/%BW_MAC %/%BW_ORG_ID%- %BW_ENT_ID%-%BW_GROUP_ID%/%BW_CURRENT_Config_Version%“

The phone sends the following user agent header:

User-Agent: PolycomVVX-VVX_501-UA/5.9.1.1234/abcabcabcabc/Org1-Ent1- Group1/V12.0

VVX D230 - Ghost Missed Calls

$

Hi All,

We have rolled out VVX D230's throughout our company, each site has 1 base & 2 handsets which are part of a hunt group. One of the sites has complained that whenever they receive a call, it shows up as a missed call on the handset that didn't pick up the call.

Looking through different posts I found that RFC 3326 "Call completed elsewhere" solves this issue, is this something that can be setup in our devices? or is there an alternative?

Cheers,

JP

Polycom VX310 Missing Files, config reverted

$

Hi,

I recently purchased several Polycom VX310s and have ran into an issue with all of them. When restoring the phones from a previously created back up I receive a message stating 'Missing Files, config reverted' upon reboot.

The backup file I'm using has been successfully for over a year without issues and I've even restored an existing phone using it but when applied to the newly purchased phones it fails.

All phones are on version 5.6.0.20009 and have been factory reset.

I've attached  a zip file containing the log from one successfully provisioned phone and another where I'm getting the aforementioned error. The log files were both generated from View & Download Logs on the phones web interface.

The back up file was created by a previous administrator but I have been using it for a while without issue, nothing has changed on our network or with our SIP provider as far as I'm aware.

Thanks

Add a second phone number - vvx250

My wife and I work in a office together. We each have a Google Voice phone number associated with our desk phones. My Voice number is the advertised office number for incoming calls. We want to be able to answer each other's incoming calls, when required.

Is it possible to add my number to her phone and her number to my phone on a second line in such a manner that we can pick up each others calls?

If not, are there other potential solutions.

Thanks!

Intermittent "unregistered SIP" on Polycom VVX410 on hosted 3CX on Azure

Hi,

Hoping you can help me.

I have a Polycom vx410 connect directly to a hosted 3CX PBX over the internet, I have factory reset the device and upgraded to the latest firmware, and provisioned the device no problems... the issues are then when trying to use the phone, The phone line will go "unregistered" and then reconnect intermittently, and when it is logged in you cannot use the phone at all.

A call will come in and picking up the handset does not do anything.

UC Software Version5.9.6.2327

3cx version - 16.0.5.611

All firewall ports are configured as per guide on 3cx website.

Overwriting config file values with secondary file(s).

$
0
0

Environment:

UC 5.5.X

VVX-3/4XX phones.

I'm trying to figure out the rules surrounding what values can be overwritten (or deleted) by loading a secondary config file.

Background/example:

Provisioning server creates <mac>.cfg file, with the setting CONFIG_FILES=main.cfg.

In main.cfg, I have 2 EFK's, and 2 softkeys that call the macro(s).

<efk><efklist1> efk.efklist.1.mname="foo" efk.efklist.1.label="fooLabel" efk.efklist.1.action.string="<action string>"</efklist1><efklist2> efk.efklist.2.mname="bar" efk.efklist.2.label="barLabel" efk.efklist.2.action.string="<action string 2>"</efklist2></efk> ...<softkey> softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="fooLabel" softkey.1.action="!foo" ... softkey.2.enable="1" softkey.2.label="barLabel" softkey.2.action="!bar"</softkey>

I need to remove/replace EFK 2 and softkey 2 via adding a second cfg file in <mac>.cfg

E.g.

CONFIG_FILES=main.cfg, custom.cfg

and custom.cfg contains:

efk.efklist.2.mname="newMacro" efk.efklist.2.label="newMacro" efk.efklist.2.action.string="<new action string 2>" ... softkey.2.label="newMacro" softkey.2.action="!newMacro"

What's odd, is that:

  1. The efk.2 gets replaced with the new configuration variables.
  2. But softkey.2 does not get changed.
  3. But I can add a softkey.3, and when added, calls the new efk.2 successfully.

I've also tried to delete softkey.2 by setting the softkey.2 variables used to "0" and Null. Nothing seems to change or delete them.

If I could even change the softkey.2.label entry to something other than what it is and where it's located on the screen I'd be happy. At the moment, I can't seem to do anything to it.

Trio 8800 reverts back to Skype profile

We just switched all of our Poly Trio 8800 profiles from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams. However, they keep switching back to Skype on its own. I tested one phone out by wiping it clean and restoring it to factory defaults, yet it changed over. Is there anything I can do to fix this? All phones are on version 5.9.5.2830 currently.

Quick question regarding ip6000 Display issues

Hey Steffen, I have read your replys about display dead red blinking lights = ip6000 is dead.

Before I trashed my dead device I took it apart and it appears the tft display is actually an independent ribbon attached Module 2202-15630-001 Rev A barcode polycom Part ID LM00D5FA   so unless these replacable modules are Serialized per device should this not be an easy order and replacement? Alas I havent found the module for sale and the 6000's are pretty old devices but this got me very curious. Thoughts?

CCX 600 / Bluetooth Headset Disconnects

$

0

Has anyone had experience with the CCX phone spontaneously disconnecting bluetooth headsets?

I have connected my Jabra Evolve 75 headset to the CCX 600 phone. Since the latest Poly firmware update, the headset will spontaneously disconnect then immediately reconnect throughout the day.

There is no seeming correspondence to activity of the CCX (happened both while on a call and while sitting idle on desk), activity of the headset (happened while in use on CCX, on connected PC, and while sitting idle on desk).

Jabra lists the headset as specifically compatible with the CCX. Which, I presume, pretty much all headsets using the bluetooth standards should be.

Any suggestions or common experiences?

Import speed dials to IP 7000

Hello all,

is it possible to import speed dials to Soundstations IP 7000 running on 4.0.8.1972 via xml files as it works for the Trio 8800?
If so, is it the same process or different?

Best Regards

Stefan
