Warning Icon: Default Admin Password In Use

Whenever the phone is restarted or rebooted, a warning banner appears in the top-right corner of the LCD display on the desk phone.  The warning message displays 'Default admin password is in use. Contact your administrator.'

I can clear the warning message but the warning appears again after restart or reboot.

When I change the Admin password on the phone or through the web interface, the warning goes away but the Admin password is reset to default after restart or reboot.

 

I followed the instructions related to Article 42741 but this did not resolve the issue either.

Details about my environment and phone are listed below.

 

Software version =5.9.7.38957

Phone Model =VVX 450

Call Platform =Zoom Phone

VVX 450 has zero touch provisioning.  Added the MAC address to the user within Zoom's web interface then connected ethernet cable.

Enabled web interface.

No other configurations have been made.


View Corporate Directory Without Search

How can the Corporate Directory be viewed without typing in characters?  That is, users want to be able to scroll through the Corporate Directory without character input to view the refined list.

Unable to upgrade software SoundStation IP 5000

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade my SoundStation IP 5000's software to version 4.0.14.1580 so that I can use it with Zoom. The problem is that When I go to Utilities> Software Upgrade then select the Polycom Hosted Server and click Check for Updates the webpage freezes and I get the message "(phone IP address) is not responding due to a long running script" The webpage will eventually refresh to the home page of the Polycom device or simply crash. I've tried this with two different SoundStation IP 5000's and a SoundStation IP 7000 with the same results.  Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can fix this because I am completely stumped?

ZTP Bulk provisioning

Hi Team,

 

I need assistance with the ZTP on the option of BULK provisioning. When I created a CVS file, it works if I only add the MAC Address, Serial number, Polycom_UCS_Device, and the configuration profile but if I add the provisioning server username and provisioning server password the CVS file does not upload.

 

Do you have an example of a CVS file with only this value?

VVX 250 no ip

By default is SIP mode for out call. How to switch between modes PSTN/SIP if you want to make a call via PSTN and then again via SIP?

HTTPS Provisioning Problem

I am trying to setup provisioning server using HTTPS, I have tested HTTP which is working fine. I am using Go-Daddy G2 certificate for my server and I have tried PolycomRootCA, as well as other recognize RootCA which Polycom allows. I don't want to install certificate manually on phone because I am going to deploy more then 200 phones.

I am using VVX410 for My test purpose, If works I would be using VVX150, VVX250, VVX450 for deployment.

Phone Info

MAC : 0004f29188d0

BootROM 5.1.6.4828

SIP Version 4.1.6.5734

Device Factory certificate is installed

Polycom D230 Park Retrieval

Hey Steffen,

 

I hope you are staying safe during these difficult times. I have a customer that is using a D230 and everything works fine but when we try to retrieve a park (*31 on our Freeswitch Platform) it never attempts to retrieve the call. I have tried deleting all the feature codes on the web interface of the phone.

 

The phone is manually provisioned and on the newest firmware. Is there anything you could think of that might stop the phone from attempting to retrieve a parked call.

VVX500 / 600 resets, freezes or screen goes blank on impact.

We have multiple VVX500 and 600 machines that display a wide array of problem when handles a bit rough. We have a VVX600 that will get a blank or distorted screen when given a slight tap (or when the horn is put down or picked up a bit too rough).

 

A VVX500 will randomly freeze when given a tap, sometimes when you drop the horn or tap something against the unit the screen will turn white or just freeze and the machine has to be rebooted.

 

Both machines are around 2 years old and apart from not being handled with silk gloves, they aren't handled with a hammer either.

 

Does anyone know what could cause this, if it falls under warranty or if there is a fix we can do ourselves?

No Voice when calling internally over LAN. VVX301

Good afternoon,

Our organisation uses Polycom VVX301,

Currently it is possible to make calls from and to outside world.

However when I make internal calls over office LAN, both ends can't hear each other -  it is completely silent. Ringing works ok, and when call is on hold, music can be heard ok.

Phones can ping each other, and register to BT. BT cloud service registers all internal (LAN) calls as "ok".

 

Only problem I noticed was under "configuration" option:

VVX301_BTB.cfg

errors5  and duplicates 18 ok 905

also

BWDEVICE_641...

rrors 28 duplicates 2 ok 346

 

What could be the cause?

Polycom Trio 8500 Long distance Pin Code dialing issues

I have some Polycom Trio 8500's running firmware 5.5.2.11338, i have also upgraded one to 5.9.1.10419.  when i make a call the dial pad disappears and i dont have the option to dial Long distance codes or pins.  is there a fix for this?  

Polycom Trio 8800 Poly Cloud Services

Hi Everyone, 

 

I noticed there is a cloud status / Poly Cloud Services on the webinterface of our Polycom Trio 8800 Kits. 

 

We have a total of 8 kits in our environment and I was wondering what´s the best way to provision it. 

 

I´ve called Poly sales, and mentioned the cloud services, but the sales representative didn´t know anything about it. He mentioned Poly Lens and Poly real connect but forwarded the inquiry to our supplier. I have also reached out to the Poly support but they forwarded me  to our supplier too. Our supplier asked me to get in contact with a local Polycom partner or Poly itself to clarify. They don´t sell any Polycom cloud services due to complexity. 

 

So I´ve tried to find some information by myself and let´s say I´m not even mad at our supplier. The information on the Poly website is a mess. I find a lot of marketing nonsense but when trying to find actual technical details you are lost. 

 

For instance, I found the following website:

Hidden 120 minutes timeout Polycom Soundstation IP 5000

Hello

Our Polycom Soundstation IP 5000 interrupts call after 120 minutes. We thought, our cloud telephone system distributor was responsible for this issue. But they said, the phone is interrupting the call, like it has been finished.

So my question is: Is there some hidden interrupt option, I cannot see?

Soundstation Duo "error application not present"

Dear Community,

 

We have a soundstation duo phone - since last week it shows the error message "application not present". 

I cant enter the menu to reset it to factory. I also tried to enter the setup menu with the password "456" but it is incorrect.

I have attached all the steps.

VVX 350 - How to configure maximum potential speaker phone volume limit to stop annoying users!?

Hi,

 

I'm looking through all of the config values but I can't find one that puts a max value threshold on the speakerphone volume. For example, if the phone currently has a range of 0(Lowest) - 10(highest), I would like to limit the phone to not be able to exceed 7. Loud speakerphone users are annoying, please help!

VVX 250 Provisioning Issue

I'm trying to provision a new VVX 250, but I can't find the setting. After rebooting the phone, hitting cancel, entering the admin code 456, there is no setup menu option. There is a Factory Reset option, SPT On/Off option, and Exit Option. Also, in the settings menu of the phone, there is no Advanced area that has the provisioning settings there.

 

I also checked the Web Interface and couldn't find the proper setting. The phone came with UCS version 6.3.1.0.

 

The phone company I use thought maybe the firmware was the problem, since they are still using version 5.8.2.4732, but we weren't able to downgrade the firmware either.

 

Any ideas?
