[Software] 6.2.11 OpenSIP -- "generic" profile missing?

$

0

Hello,

All the documentation I've found says that OpenSIP is only supported on 6.2.11; older versions (such as 5.9.13.0306) only support MS Teams or Skype for Business.

But my team and I have just completed some testing on a CCX 500 (Part Number 3111-49710-001 Rev:A) and have found evidence to suggest there's either an error in the documentation or in the firmware releases. Please correct us if we're mistaken.

When running 6.2.11.1323, the only available Base Profile options are "Microsoft" and "Skype." The "Generic" profile is not available via the UI; when I try to set device.baseProfile to "Generic" via provisioning, the phone instead uses the "Microsoft" profile. No matter which profile is selected, the device fails to register.

When running 5.9.13.0306, the available Base Profile options are "Generic" and "Skype." So although OpenSIP is apparently not supposed to be supported in this release, it provisions and registers with our service as expected.

Is there something I'm misunderstanding? Or was 6.2.11.1323 packaged incorrectly, or does the software matrix and otherdocumentation reflect incorrect information?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Individual Provisioning of phones via RPRM

Hi

I'm pushing a generic phone profile to all phones via RPRM.

How can I push individual settings to a phone in one shot (in particular, the system name and the line registration)?

The "Get/Set Phone Parameter" under Profiles Deployment can only set one parameter per execution, but I want to change about 5 parameters.

I have an XML created which I can upload in the backend of each endpoint web utility - that works.

Is it possible to upload this XML in the RPRM to the phone to avoid the web utility? I tried to do so and uploaded it via the "Upload Phone File" function and uploaded it to the Overrides Directory, but after a reboot, the settings are not applied.

Profiles Deployment with individual rules per phone seems to be too much work - just uploading the XML to the phone via RPRM would be great.

Any thoughts / tips and tricks?

Thanks!

Provisioning VVX450 Issue

Software Revision: 5.8.0.12848
Phone Model: VVX450
Call Platform: Asterisk
MAC Address: 64167FB5BA8B
Issue:

While attempting to setup a TFTP provisioning server I downloaded and implemented the "Polycom UC Software 6.3.0.14929 for VVX Business Media Phones, Business IP Phones and SoundStructure VOIP Interface" package from https://support.polycom.com/content/support/north-america/usa/en/support/voice/business-ip-phones/vvx450.html.

I've not had any success with the combined or the split packages... and in fact after switching from the combined to the split package (due to noticing the log file was complaining about missing files that were present in the split package) the WebUI is no longer accessible (thus I haven't included any log files) and the phone gives the message "Error application is not present" when booting (which the phone now does over and over again).

I'd really like having a working provisioning server and a working phone... Not sure how to do either one at this point, but am understanding that I'm now in a position that requires me to have one to have the other.

Other posts I've found on this issue point to not using the right software package... But, if I'm not pulling the right software package from what I've explained above... what am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

We have a PBXACT(Freepbx) system and Polycom VVX 600 phones. How can we differentiate between calls ringing in the ring group vs calls specific to the extension. Can this be done through the IP address of the phone? Under ring type there are two options (Ring Type and Private Line) but this doesnt seems to work.

Upgrading IP SoundStation IP 5000

Hello

I am trying to upgrade an Polycom IP Soundstation IP 5000. I've readen a lot of communit entries, which did not help me a lot since they seem to be outdated. Links inside those entries and also in the FAQ seems to be broken. We got some devices of the SS IP 5000, but one seems to have an very old software and does work properly in our infrastructure. So my decision is to upgrade it.

Phone Informations:
Firmware: 3.3.3.0069

Bootrom: 4.3.1.0440

Data from Polycom Website:

Found Link to Firmware Upgrade on:
https://support.polycom.com/content/support/north-america/usa/en/support/voice/soundstation-ip-series/soundstation-ip5000.html
Since I have a newer Bootrom than 4.0 and we are not using Lync, I assume that this upgrade is the correct one:
https://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/uc/Polycom-UC-Software-4.0.14-rts26-G-release-sig-split.zip

After downloading, unarchiving and loading the content to an FTP server, I configured the phone for loading data from the new source. The soundstation is still throwing the error the Update is incompatible with the device. WTF?

Analyzing the 000000000000.cfg bringst out a configuration for different phones. But not for SSIP5000. Also is the configuration file containing file names, which are not inside the package, like 'sip_318.ld'. Is the whole package damaged?
Community FAQ mentions an upgrader. Do I need this updater? I got no clue. Links are broken. A different IP Soundstation of my own has a Bootrom version higher than 5.x.x. So maybe I need it ...

Searching for Bootrom update brings no result.

Is there a one shot update for my device? Do I have to go in several more tiny steps? I got more questions than information.

Please provide more informations to me.

Kind Regards

JTS

Hello,

I need help coding call park/retrieve on a polycom vvx 400 version 5.5.2

The design I am aiming for is to push the park button on a call to a blf to park it.

Then anyone could retrieve that call by pushing the blf on the right side of the phone.

I am stuck with my coding and this is what I have so far.

Call retrieve only shows when I initiate a call by taking the phone off -hook but it doesn't work

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also posted a pic of how the set-up should look like.

Questions about 000000000000.cfg file

$

Hi

There are some questions that are bothering me and I couldn't find an answer in any manual of FAQ topic.

1. So 000000000000.cfg file contains entries like below:

<APPLICATION_VVX300 APP_FILE_PATH_VVX300="sip_590.ld" CONFIG_FILES_VVX300="" />
<APPLICATION_VVX310 APP_FILE_PATH_VVX310="sip_590.ld" CONFIG_FILES_VVX310="" />
<APPLICATION_VVX400 APP_FILE_PATH_VVX400="sip_590.ld" CONFIG_FILES_VVX400="" />

What does "sip_590.ld" stand for?? Values are also different for SoundPoint and SoundStation devices.

2. I'm wondering - why there are no such entries like above for Trio family?? What they should look like?

2.1. With trial and error I've managed to figure it out partially for Trio8800, but only for CONFIG_FILES part, not for APP_FILE_PATH. It looks like this:

<APPLICATION_Trio8800 APP_FILE_PATH_Trio8800="" CONFIG_FILES_Trio8800="Trio8800-cnfg.cfg" />

3. As a bonus question.

Trio firmware file does contain "VVXLocalization". I've been observing how Trio behaves during provisioning and it does look for that folder even before asking for 000000000000.cfg file. But it happens only in case when default GUI language has been changed.

Now, the problem is that those localization files may be different between VVX and Trio products family.

Is there any way to separate them, except for maybe keeping Trio and VVX firmware in different folders? Or is it worth doing at all? Maybe it's best to just keep it in root folder and only from the latest firmware (be it either Trio of VVX)?

Regards

Lukasz

Soundstation IP 7000 - Unable to access Menu/Advanced Settings Cannot perform factory reset.

We just started coming back to the office after being away for 3+ months due to CV19.

Our IP 7000 only displays the Polycom splash screen when it powers up, the 3 lights change from green to red on the speakers. The display does stay lit, but blank.

Try pressing Menu key, but no response.

It is powered over IP and I plugged into 3 different working ports where we have IP office phones which work & same result as above. I tried to connect an ethernet cable from laptop to IP 7000 & it doesn't power.

Not sure if it is dead, but it is still getting power.  Any suggestions before we buy a new model?

Polycom VVX 250 "DHCP Failed", no network connection

$

When booting the phone from PoE or power while connected to our network, the VVX250 phone will not achieve a connection. The system gives a "DHCP failed" warning when fully booted, and sometimes (not always) the boot process gives the message "Failed to get boot parameters via DHCP". The phone gets NO IP address at all, and even when assigned one on the phone and given a reservation on the DHCP server, there is no network connection on the phone. I'm trying to get it to work with a cloud-based PBX system. Since day 1 of getting this phone, I have had this issue--it's never worked successfully. I've tried the following:

- Using different ethernet cables

- Using different ports on our switches

- Plugging in the phone on my Comcast home network running a basic router, same issue

- Performing a factory reset on the phone

- Returning the phone and receiving a new one from the vendor

Phone Details:

Model: Polycom VVX 250

MAC: 64:16:7f:7e:50:36

Firmware: 5.9.5

I have no clue what is keeping this device off the network. I'm using a 3com 4500G switch with a dedicated voice VLAN as well as a Windows DHCP server. A packet capture on the DHCP server saw no DHCP requests from the phone so I'm led to believe there's some other issue at the switch level but I can't isolate it after a couple weeks of troubleshooting. I'm prepared to try pretty much anything at this point, since I'm attempting to transition from a currently present on-site PBX system to the cloud-based one. I've been in contact with the cloud provider to make sure everything is set up correctly from their end but they're stumped also. Any help would be massively appreciated.

Hey Steffen,

Is it possible to move the Polycom D230 off of the OBi environment and move it to the UC environment?

It does not look like it but I wanted to confirm.

Thanks!

CANNOT ENABLE QUICK SETUP USING CONFIG PARAMETER

Hi,

Hope you can help me figure out why QSetup on my Polycom phone will not enable even after using this parameter:

prov.quickSetup.enable="1"

I tried searching the KB and the community for previous discussion about QSetup, but can only find topics about how to set it up.

Currently, the only way I can enable it is if I go to the phone user interface and enable the 'Quick Setup' option (Settings > Advanced > Administration Settings > Network Configuration > Quick Setup).

Below are the required basic info of my phone.

Phone Basic Information
Phone Model: VVX 410
Part Number: 3111-46162-001 Rev:A
MAC Address: 00:04:F2:55:F6:E4
IP Mode: IPv4
IP Address: 192.168.1.2
UC Software Version: 5.9.5.0614 (SIP/UC using PDMS)
Updater Version: 5.9.7.32930

Call Platform: Cisco BroadWorks

My phone has been working perfectly other than the QSetup cannot be enabled using the parameter: prov.quickSetup.enable.

I also have this parameter set:

prov.quickSetup.limitServerDetails="1"

The above parameter is working correctly as soon as the QSetup feature is enabled.

Thanks.

Poly VVX D230 Privacy:id header enabled but not being injected into SIP invites

I have enabled the "X_InsertPrivacyHdr" option under Service Provider, ITSP Profile, SIP to inject the SIP Privacy:id header into outbound invites from the phones to the carrier. All testing and packet captures have shown that the Privacy:id header is not being injected as per the instructions in the admin manual. Is this attribute dependent on anything else being enabled first?

I have tested this on firmware v7.0.2 and v7.1.0 so at least it's consistent.

How to configure remotely VVX Expansion Module (2200-46350-025)?

Hello,

I can easily add the speed dial entries physically at the phone but was wondering if there is a way to add/edit them remotely through the web GUI?  Attached are the menu options that I can see but can't locate anything related to the expansion contacts. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sebastian
