Poly 250 UC vs OBi Edition

Hi Everyone,

 

I recently had a customer purchase a large number of Poly VVX 250 and it surprised me when we got logged in how much different the web interface. I saw that you can spin up a TFTP server and move back to UC but is there a video or a good explanation on the differences between UC and OBi?

We have a trio with virtual pro and poly eagle eye Cube hdci camera in use. How do I adjust the camera to make the tracking work properly. The tracking technology always gets stuck.

Trio 8800 - Network traffic to Polycom Cloud

Hello!

 

We are using Trio 8800 paired with Visual+ or VisualPro. We've seen, that each Trio and each Visual+ generates network traffic to Polycom Cloud 104.210.158.192 by default, which will be blocked by our firewalls. We are provisioning the Polycom devices by RPRM on-premise and do not use any Polycom Cloud Service, so there is no use for that traffic.

 

To prevent this traffic and to reduce network load, on RPRM we've set the configuration attributes feature.da.enabled="0", feature.obitalk.enabled="0" and feature.pcc.enabled="0" for each Trio.

 

Now there is network traffic left from Visual+ to Polycom Cloud. Please tell me, how to eliminate this traffic too.

SoundStation IP 6000, to PoE or not to PoE?

Hello everyone.

 

I recently bought a used Soundstation IP 6000. The unit I received says it is Part Number 3111-15600-001 Rev:R in the web GUI.

 

This particular unit won't boot at all unless I use the power adapter cable and the injector. The port it is connected to is 100% PoE and it previously had an Avaya phone plugged into it. I checked all the obvious things to rule out a network issue (changed cables, plugged in the SSIP to another port on the switch, reset PoE on the port, etc), but this phone steadfastly refuses to power on with PoE. It will only power on with the adapter.

 

  1. Is this normal?
  2. On the internet, I found that some SSIP 6000's were sold as "AC Power version". Was that a normal PoE phone with an injector, or was it a completely different phone that only works when plugged in?

 

I also have another SSIP 6000, part number "3111-15600-001 Rev:N", which powers up absolutely fine using PoE.

Trio 8800 Zoom on 3rd line dialling password from invite when using Join Button

I have an issue with Zoom.  I am using it on line 3.  I am using S4B line 1 and Teams line 2. 

 

I can manually dial with all 3. Join button works fine for teams too from my calendar. 

 

Problem I am having is if I try and join a Zoom meeting from a Join Button, it dials the password instead of the meeting ID from the invite. 

 

Cant find any way to stop it doing so.  Anyone else having this?

Hi all

 

VVX500 phone.

 

Is there a way to dynamically change phone buttons from a central location?

 

An example -- our system has the ability to divert all the calls somewhere else (night mode). This mode is activated by dialing a feature code (*68 in my case). So, I added an entry to directory to dial this feature code and it is working.

 

Now i want some indication system is in  night mode. And indication has to be on all handsets, not just the one mode was initiated from. Ideally, quick dial entry will change from "Set Night Mode ON" to "Set Nigh Mode OFF". Or have a popup on all screens. Or something else readily visible.

 

Is it possible? I understand server support will be needed and I should be able to trigger a script that runs when certain events happen on PBX. Where do I start?

Boot VVX-X50 from USB?

Hello,

I bricked a Polycom VVX-250 somehow by entering the advanced options and selecting TLS Certificates. Now, it will power up but freezes on "Welcome! 7 seconds until autoboot."

the 7 seconds does not change or countdown and none of the keys respond to keypress.

Then, it will reboot itself.

 

Is there any way to recover this? I am hoping a procedure that will allow auto boot from the USB slot? Is there a factory reset hardswitch someplace?

VVX-250 rejecting CA certificate chain

Hello;

I have VVX phones (purchased through a**zon.com, so not supported)

 

My VIOP Provider is using metaswitch, and when I purchased and set up these phones, ZTP worked fine and I could update configurations and Provision new phones. Sometime in May, ZTP started failing because my phones were rejecting the CA cert or chain.

IP SoundStation software version prerequisites for RPRM

Hello,

Is there a prerequisite for a minimum software version for an IP SoundStation IP5000/6000/7000 device to work with RPRM version 10.7?

We have some IP 7000 devices version  3.3.3.0069 which cannot be managed from RPRM, they are shown as Offline in RPRM. Do those devices need to have another software version to be able to work with RPRM?

CCX400/600 starts randomly stuttering

We've discovered that the CCX400 and 600 has a stuttering bug. On a random moment the speaker or headset starts to turn green and white very quickly en you hear the speaker or horn starts to stutter the tone. The only temporary fix for this is to restart the phone.

We manage the phones using the teams portal.

VVX 410/411 UC Upgrade Question

Hello Everyone,

 

Pretty new here and and from searching around I am a little confused on my issue.

I currently have several 410 and 411 VVX phones deployed.  They are all running 5.9.1.0615 and our users are currently using BTOE 3.9.0.

 

What is my best upgrade method to the latest version of UC Software and BTOE?

 

From reading the following statement it seems 6.2.0.4023 is not supported on the 410's?
"Polycom UC Software and supporting documentation are available for the following latest releases:

VVX 300,310,400,410,500,600 & 1500 are not supported on UCS Releases starting 6.0.x & above."

However if i read the "Polycom UC Software with Skype for Business" guide from 6.2.0.4023 the UC Software Device Compatibility lists the 410 AND 411.

My initial plan was to play it safe and upgrade our 410/411's to UC Software 5.9.6.2327 and stay on BTOE 3.9.  I would rather not have two separate UC Software versions for my 410/411 phones and the possibility having any BTOE issues.

SoundPoint IP 320/330 and 321/331 BootROM & Firmware Updates

Hi:

 

I'm fairly experienced in networks, etc. but not that much in VoIP... so please bear with me. Long story short-> we have a couple of hundred Polycom SoundPoint IP 320/330 and 321/331 installed across our network. They are working but are managed by our current VoIP provider. As we are looking to change providers I took a look at the phones and found that they are running a bunch of different firmware versions which makes a nightmare to configure and manage. So, I'm trying to have them all set the same way.

 

Looking at the firmware table:

I see that the latest firmware for the 321/331 is 4.0.15.1009 and that for 320/330 is 3.3.5. I set up a local TFTP server and started updating the phones but a lot of them did not get the updates (and I see them hitting the server for the files).

 

I also see that the BootROM can (and in some cases has to) be updated. But I can't find what is the latest version that works on each phone (and more importantly where to download it).

 

I'm hoping that by updating the BootROM all the updates should go thru. Any advice on where to get them? I realize the phones are old, but they are in good working order.

Initial X50 Teams Setup

Hey there,

 

I'm having an issue with using my new X50. I have set the provider mode on this to Teams and updated to software version: 3.1.1-216122. After connecting my teams account, I do see that my TV looks good. It shows the meetings I've booked in the room, etc. but I cannot get either my Trio 8800 paired  or TC8 to work correctly with Teams with the X50.

 

I've configured device mode: generic and device type: device on the Trio but I haven't found a way to use the Trio to control meetings i.e. start meetings, create ad-hoc meetings, etc. When I try to tap on the 'Start Mirroring' button after pairing the Trio with X50, it says 'daisy chain connection failed'. I'm not sure if that is related to the issue or not. The Trio is on software version 5.9.3.8724.

 

For the TC8, it's running software version 3.0.1. When I pair it, it doesn't seem to resemble the purple Teams theme that the screen has. Not sure what can be done but from looking on YouTube, I saw a TC8 that's display looks like it is running a Teams theme on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH4Ie1oFgu4

 

 I'm looking at the viability of the X50 for a large amount of rooms. Ideally, it would pair perfectly with the Trio 8800 but if it has to be the TC8, so be it.

 

Also, quick question: is there any way to get the X50 to support hybrid line registration with one line being Teams and one line being SIP?

 

I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong here but any help or guidance would be appreciated here.

we just released the new CCX400, CCX500, CCX600 and CCX700 SKU phones in openSIP mode.

 

NOTE: At present these are openSIP devices only and cannot switch to run Microsoft Teams and or Microsoft Skype for Business!

Poly Trio disconnects from Zoom Rooms

According to https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360043770412

"There is a known issue for Zoom Rooms Controller 5.0.0 running on Poly Trio that causes the controller to disconnect from the Zoom Rooms in some cases" and "Poly will release a firmware version containing the fix in late June".

 

Even with daily reboots, we are getting disconnects in our Zoom Rooms deployed using Trio 8800 (UC Software 5.9.3AB) and Zoom Rooms for Windows (5.0.4) as the disconnect can come back within the day itself.

 

Is there a new ETA for the firmware containing the fix?

vvx411 all lines flashing green - locked up - Ring Central

I have several VVX411 phones that are locking up and flashing all lines green.  Have to reboot the phone to get it back working.

Using RingCentral as provider and they show no issues. 

Not using Skype for Business.  Just basic VOIP services

 

UC Software Version5.6.0.20009
Updater Version5.8.0.24992

 

I am not finding any similar issue in the KB or on Google.

 

Trio C60 & HDMI: How does it function?

I've been looking around online and haven't found anything but I'm trying to get some info on the Trio C60 and its HDMI port. Does it work? How does it work? And is it supposed to be like the HDMI in on the Studio X line?
