DHCP-Option failed

$

ladies and gentlemen,

unfortunately we have the problem that the DHCP option 160 does not work as we want it to

Server type HTTPS
DHCP option 160
String: http:MTURPRM:password@mrprm-prod/phoneservice/configfiles

But with the Trio I get the error message: invalid Provisioning details.

There is a special character in the password, inside.
Can it be because of the special character?

Enhanced Call Park feature

I'm wondering if there's a working config for Enhanced Call Park feature (for Broadsoft/BroadWorks) as per release notes for software 5.3

I've searched forum (earlier topics didn't have definitive answer) and looked at Partner configuration guides.

I've tried it on VVX 501 with latest available software (as well as 5.9.5):

Phone ModelVVX 501
Part Number3111-48500-001 Rev:A
UC Software Version6.2.0.4023
Updater Version6.2.0.3999

The best I can get is showing that monitored (BLF) line is parked, but if a call is parked against the primary line of the phone - it doesn't show.

Microphone button grey

We have VVX 4.11 handsets connected to our Windows 10 computers using BToE v3.8.0.0. We use Skype for Business Online.

When a user is in a call using their VVX, the microphone button is grey.  However, the handset is not muted. The button the VVX can toggle the mute, but it is not reflected in the Skype call window.

We noticed a new setting in Settings\Privacy for Windows 10. There is a section for desktop apps that are allowed to use the microphone. Skype for Business is listed, but not BToE. Should it be?

Metaswitch versus Web interface

I am new to using Polycom phones.  And I am trying to move some keys around and I am having trouble with the DND key.   I am wondering if the Metaswitch (HPBX) programming will always over-ride any changes that you do via the Web Interface?

I apologize if this has been asked before, I tried to read all the FAQ's to make sure.

I worked on Nortel 11c - 81c's until a few years after they went out of business.  So the IP environment is still new to me.

Trio 8500 & Windows 10 USB Connection

I want to use the Trio 8500 as a microphone for Zoom calls. I thought I could take the micro-USB connection from the Trio to a Windows 10 laptop and it would recognize it as an audio device having a microphone and speakers, but it simply doesn't work. The PC doesn't recognize anything at all. Is there a setting that needs to be changed to allow the micro-usb output to successfully connect to a Windows 10 PC? Any help would be appreciated.

After latest update (Polycom Trio 8800 Software 5.9.3 Rev AB) i am stuck with annoying problem. I can't unmute/mute microphone - it blinks whole time. Mute function works only from main screen.

Also after firmware upgrade there is no Zoom Room profile to select during configuration on the device - i can enable it only via www when login into device and select profile.

(btw. i also have the same issue with the old firmware too)

I have to upgrade to the latest Zoom App (5.0) in polycom trio, cause security policies. Downgrade is impossible.

Polycom Trio and WebEx

Hi

I have a Polycom Trio 8800 on software version 5.9.3.7982

Is it possible to setup an unregistered line to connect to WebEx?
I have read through the documentation released by Polycom in 2018 and this references CUCM. The current setup we have is that the Trio is in Skype for Business mode so Line 1 will be used for this and Line 2 would be used for WebEx.

I have applied the attached configs to the Trio and the Line appears as i would expect, however when tapping the WebEx button i get a busy tone.

Ideally i was hoping for a similar solution to Zoom, where you tap the button and then you're connected to WebEx and prompted to enter the meeting details.

Kind Regards,

Robert

Firmware upgrade error VVX311

So I got a few VVX311 phones I want to use with 3CX, but in order to get them to work they need to be updated to 6.1.2

I have tried through the GUI - its not working I get i cant download a .CFG file eror and it will keep looping until I reset it to factory defaults again.

Then I found a guide where I go through the phone and change under server settings and provisioning server, and it seems the phone is downloading but it keeps looping again !!

I have configured more than 1,000 of another brand with firmware updates as well, why is Polycom phones so complicated.

Not even their own firmware server can update the phones. I hope there is an easy answer or Polycom will not be a part of our offerings moving forward. To much an hassle....

Sorry but we have spent way to much time and money on something very simple that other vendors handle with EASE .....

Current phone is:

300SIP Error 0x4020

Hi all,

I am trying to set up a system using older (but perfectly working) SoundPoint 300SIP phones.

Upon startup one of the phones shows "configuration file error 0x4020".

Now, I tried to reset the phone to factory defaults. I can see phone is happily talking to the provisioning server. I do have another phone that starts up and registers just fine, so tried to replace the config file of the problematic phone with one from a working phone -- same problem.

Log file shows following:

1207222014|app1 |3|00| Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. 1207222014|app1 |3|00| Gateway address is 192.168.1.1. 1207222014|app1 |3|00| DNS server is 192.168.1.1. 1207222014|app1 |3|00|Bootline: eim(0,0)bootHost:flash e=192.168.1.12:ffffff00:15180:4b1d7f9e h=192.168.1.23 g=192.168.1.1 u=XXXX pw=XXXXX f=0x40 tn 1207222014|app1 |3|00|Bootline: =CircaIP 1207222055|app1 |4|00|Could not load time from 0.0.0.0(0.0.0.0). 1207222126|cfg |4|00|Failed to load bootrom.ld. On working phone:

I did double-check the file name for the offending phone -- it is matching the MAC.

I also tried to delete the config file completely. I then do get expected errors that file can not be found. So, error is in the config file itself, but one phone is happy with it, second one is not. Both phones connect to FTP server with same credentials, so it is not permission issue.

Config file is as follow (sorry, this forum tries to reformat it and will not let me attach CFG file)

<!-- Default Master SIP Configuration File --><!-- Edit and rename this file to <Ethernet-address>.cfg for each phone. --><!-- $RCSfile: 000000000000.cfg,v $ $Revision: 1.15 $ --><APPLICATION APP_FILE_PATH="sip.ld" CONFIG_FILES="102-marina.cfg, 102-marina-sip-basic.cfg" MISC_FILES="" LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="logs" OVERRIDES_DIRECTORY="" CONTACTS_DIRECTORY="" CALL_LISTS_DIRECTORY="calls"/>

Any idea what i should check next?
Thanks,
Rudolf

Contacts on VVX handsets using Google Voice

Hi,

We have deployed Google Voice at a couple of our sites and are using some Polycom handsets. They work fine. However, I was wondering if there is a way of getting them to show the same contacts as a user gets on the mobile app or the web interface - so their normal Google Contacts.

I'm not sure this is even a thing. Anyone any ideas? Google seems a bit vague on the subject.

Thanks,

Polycom VVX 250 OBI HELP I have NEW advanced admin menu - how do I switch to simple?

$

Hello Community,

Long story short I had Google Voice, they updated and changed my polycom 250 phone to have a very advanced menu --> and my new carrier RingCentral and Google Voice and Polycom - cannot help me.

The menu for when you login from PC (you use the IP for the phone), enter username Admin & password, when I do this - my menu has options that do not show up on ANY support for the Polycom 250, so I need some assistance trying to configure the phone back to a simple menu. It seems Google Voice added too many updates and parameters. I have tried Factory resetting - however that only resets the basic functions and deletes the wifi access (the phone essentially still acts the same way). Please see attached screenshot of the advanced menu - This is for those who have higher knowledge of IT. I believe I need to install a different version of the firmware - but I am not that tech savvy to understand where and how to upload it with this crazy advanced menu.

Anyone else have this issue? With google voice or another carrier installing an advanced menu on a Polycom phone? I've been stuck on this for over a week dealing with RingCentral, Google Voice, & Polycom - they all say someone else should be helping me - Polycom said my phone is out of warranty, and they(third party who sold me the phone) were responsible for assisting me.

PLEASE HELP! I just want to use my desktop phone again, but Google went and complicated everything.

Thank you,

Stephanie

UC: 5.9.3.8724 & Zoom Room controller bug

I have updated 4 Trio 8500s (that are configured as Zoom Room controllers) w/UC 5.9.3.8724 and each one of them have experienced an identical issue.  The Zoom Room systems are Dell Optiplex Micros running Win10 and Zoom v5.0.0.

Shortly after successfully updating and at some random time the Zoom Room profile app drops and the device settings page appears on the display and as a result a Zoom error is generated because the ZR system loses communication w/the controller (Trio).

If you press the back arrow (bottom left corner of display) the ZR app loads and reconnects. I do not yet know if this is a consistent issue or simply a one time thing but it has happened on every Trio that I have updated.

I do not know yet if this occurs w/a Studio X ZR but I believe that it's the UC or possibly Zoom Room profile software.

[Zoom] Trio UC Software 5.9.3 Rev AB required before 30. May 2020

Change Password when provisioned to trio.zoom.us

$

I have a multi-layered problem.

The first part of the problem is that I have several Polycom Trio 8800 devices that are provisioned to trio.zoom.us to use as a Zoom Rooms controller.  The devices are now unable to log into Zoom Rooms, and when I direct the user to do so with a valid Zoom Rooms login and/or activation code, it says:  "Security Warning: Untrusted Server Certificate | You are unable to connect to Zoom because the security certificate presented could not be verified. Contact your IT department for assistance."  There are no settings options when this appears.

I tried to https into these devices through their IPs to see if I can update the Zoom cert.  However, each device was left at the default 456 password before I sent them to the offices (I know, my bad).  So the second part of the problem is that when I try to https into them, it brings me to a blank page that says "Default admin password is in use. Change the password.", and it has no option to change the password or get into the admin page like normal.

Could these two issues be related?  I could have my users try to manually change the password at the device, but they're locked into the trio.zoom.us provisioning, so I'm not sure it could be done at the device level using Menu Key => select Settings => select Advanced => current Password =>  select Admin Settings => scroll to Change Admin Password.  Is there any way to either bypass the Zoom provisioning and let the user change the password in the device settings, or preferably, remotely change the password of the devices when it's throwing the "Default admin password is in use" error?

I also found this article with a similar issue, but it's for devices provisioned to MS Lync, so I don't think they're related, plus I didn't see an actual solution there:  https://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP-SIP-Phones/quot-Default-Admin-is-in-use-please-contact-your-administrator/td-p/60636

Polycom phones looses registration within cluster scenario.

$

Hello. We faced to an issue with polycom, namely - polycom phones looses registration within SRV/DNS based cluster scenario..
So we have round-robin cluster of SIP-proxy instances behind the same SRV/A records(each instance has the same weight). The initial registration works fine, but after the polycom sends a SUBSCRIBE request to another one sipProxy instance(because of round-robin scenario) - polycom stops sending re-register by expires which we are providing in 200Ok message...

So the idea is to keep polycom located on the instance where initial register request came to.

But polycom is sending SUBSCRIBE in shuffle(not to the server where registration is located)

Help needed factory reset - phone resets to Ring Central rooms phone

$

0

This has been driving me crazy and has not been anything that Poly has been able to assist with to date.

When we got our phones we got everything going between the visual plus, the camera and everything else.  Upon calling Ring Central customer support, they told we could us the phone with the Trio because we did have rooms and needed to configure the phone to use it.  One of the team found a .xml or .cfg file on a RingCentral forum purporting to solve the issue we were experiencing.  We download the file to a USB, plugged it in and rebooted the phone. The configuration was overwritten and when the phone powered back up, it was a RingCentral Rooms phone and was asking us to sign in. Not having a Rooms account, we couldn't and reset the phone back to factory spec.

Phone reboots as a phone (it doesn't work) but as soon as the network connects, it starts downloading updates and, before you know it, it's back to being a Rooms phone.  I have tried to update the configuration files, load different versions, do multiple factory resets and each time, the phone resets and then starts updating back to a Rooms phone.  I even exported the configuration off one of our other 8800's but could not figure out how to load all those files into the stricken phone.

I've called RingCentral and they said call Poly so I called Poly and they had me do a factory reset again but then the updates start and I'm right back where I started.  I can get to the interface online but am unable to force changes on the phone because the reboot commands don't do anything.

I desperately need some help getting this thing back to being a usable phone. I can attach or link to the config file if that would be of any help to see what we did, but I hate to think that we just created a $300 brick.

Thanks in advance.

SoundPoint IP 550 - Primary Image Corrupt

$

My IP550 was running 3.x SIP software, and I decided to upgrade to the newer 4.x software. Part of what prompted this is that the provisioning host previously used no longer exists, and I didn't have my current configuration files, so I decided to start over.

Steps taken:

1. A new, empty FTP root was created, and the phone settings updated to use the new host.

2. I extracted _only_ the contents of https://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/uc/Polycom-UC-Software-4.0.15-rts22-release-sig-combined.zip in side of it.

3. I observed the new SIP application being downloaded, but after it self rebooted, this process would repeat indefinitely. I checked the logfile it uploaded, and saw a "Error: file does not contain a compatible image" error.

4. After googling my error message, I read that an "Upgrader" was needed for the upgrade to 4.x UC software to work. That led me to downloading this: http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/uc/SoundPoint_IP_BootROM_4_4_0_Upgrader_release_sig.zip

5. I extracted the upgrader, noting that BootROM images were contained within.

6. After rebooting, I observed the BootROM update process begin. Shortly after, the phone now continually cycles every few seconds displaying:

"Primary Image Corrupt!

Reflashing Image from Backup!"

This cycle repeats every few seconds, along with various LED light patterns. No buttons appear to offer any sort of response, and I can confirm from provisioning FTP that no activity is occurring (no logins, file fetches/uploads, etc). Removing power and re-applying, it immediately returns back to this error message, self-restarting every 5-10 seconds.

How can I recover the phone?
