Hello,
How can we permanently remove the ICM contact?
This does not affect service, but it annoys a lot of customers, and we would like to know:
Upon configuring a vvx 300 or vvx 400, there is an intercom contact on the screen, labelled ICM - WE do not use this contact in that manner that that contact is setup, so we usually delete it. It always comes back, even if we remove the contact in the <MAC>-directory.xml
How can we permanently remove the ICM contact?
We are currently deploying UC 5.5.1, although some newer phones have come preloaded with 5.7.1
Thank you!
Hello,
Can anybody tell me how I can reset a Trio 8500? It's stuck in a boot loop and the menu is not available.
Thanks,
Sotira
Having problems with the VVX 601 on the 5.7.0 firmware or higher that have SLA where the lines would unregister then about roughly 10 seconds later all lines will re-register and it happens quite frequently . Any thoughts? When I remove the SLA I don;t have that problem. Line will stay registered.
I have run into an issue with my Polycom 8800 where DHCP immediately fails on the device. I have tested various different ports, cables, tagged and untagged the port, and have not come to a solution. Last week I factory reset the device, and today I am having the same issue. I found an old polycom laying around and was able to get DHCP enabled on that specific device, but I am not having any luck with my Trio 8800. Has anyone else run into this issue?
Thanks.
Hi guys,
I would like to ask your help on a problem i have with the trio 8800 phone. At the moment i run it with a 5.5.4.2255 software version. I'm trying to upload a cfg file so ill be able to register multipile lines on it. Problem is whenever I try it says "Phone is busy. Please try after sometime". Its been a whole night since, i tried restarting and rebooting multipile times, and nothing works.
Unfortunately, this error doesnt even generate a log event so I have near to nothing to work with.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Hello,
I am using a Polycom VVX 400 running 5.6.0.17.325.
My VVX 400 receives the correct VLAN ID via DHCP Option 129 and the Provisioning Server URL via DHCP Option 66.
I have been experimenting with the two values below in the provisioning file of my 3cx server:
<device.net device.net.cdpEnabled.set="X">
<device.net device.net.cdpEnabled="Y">
I noticed that some changes on the provisioning file are actually applied on the Polycom phone only after a factory reset, and not after a reboot or after I trigger a re-provisioning (via a check-sync event).
The scenario is the following:
1. Factory reset Polycom
2. <device.net device.net.cdpEnabled.set="1"> and <device.net device.net.cdpEnabled="0">
3. After the initial provisioning-configuration, my VVX 400 has CDP set to "Disable". So far so good.
4. I change some setting on the provisioning file (MAC.cfg) on the server, so now we have:
<device.net device.net.cdpEnabled.set="0">
<device.net device.net.cdpEnabled="0">
5. Reboot the VVX 400. What i would expect, is that after the reboot the VVX 400 will request the provisioning files, ignore the CDP value (since <device.net device.net.cdpEnabled.set="0">) and use its default value for CDP, which is 1 / Enabled. But still, CDP remains disabled.
I tried the exact same steps for another value, <reg.1.lineKeys="4"> and the VVX 400 actually applied that value. Instead of registering the same extension once, it registered it 4 times. But it seems to ignore the values it receives for CDP, from time to time.
As per the UC 5.6.0 admin guide, Device Parameters, page 210:
"Note that some parameters may be ignored. For example, if DHCP is enabled, it will still override the value set with device.net.ipAddress"
I am wondering if CDP is one of those parameters, or if something else happens.
Any ideas what is going on?
Thank you,
George
Hello,
I am currently working with a Polycom VVX 410 phone using UC Software version 5.5.1.11526.
I made a custom config file to park/unpark calls, but it doesn't work like I thought it did. I used the FAQ on making EFK macros to do this. When in an active call on the phone, I park the call, but it doesn't tell me where the call was parked. A second later I get a call from "Parked Call" and when I pick up the phone it tells me where my call was parked. All of the other phones I have been working with tell me where the call was parked immediately instead of calling back to tell me. How do I avoid this call back?

Current Environment - Altigen On Premise PBX, Polycom VVX 600 Phones
1st Phone:
VVX 600 (3111-44600-001 Rev A., UC Software Version: 5.4.2.2834)
I have added a VVX Color Expansion Module SN AP0A1548056A Rev. D
This Expansion module works perfect.
On a second VVX600:
VVX 600 (3111-44600-001 Rev A, UC Software Verson: 5.4.2.2834)
I have added multiple VVX Color Expansion Modules -
- 2200-46350-025 (Serial: AR181726982D, Revision M)
- 2200-46350-025 (Serial: AR18172691B6, Revision M)
- 2201-46350-001 (Serial: AR1817186A5A, Revision E)
All of these expansion modules will power up, stay active and function for anywhere from 1 - 4 hours, then will become unresponsive (any button press will not perform any function) as if the module is in a frozen state.
Any help or suggestions with this are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hello,
I am using a VVX 400 running 5.6.0.17325.
UC 5.6.0 Admin Guide mentions the following priorities in a phone's configuration:
1st. Phone GUI
2.nd Web Configuration
3rd. Central Configuration (Provisioning Server)
It is expected that if a user makes a change via the Phone GUI, an override config file <MAC>-phone.cfg is stored in the phone or sent to the provisioning server, if the server allows it. Similar for Web config - - > <MAC>-web.cfg.
When the phone receives the configuration from my SIP/Configuration server (3cx) I see the following files being sent to the phone:
1. <MAC>.cfg
2.<MAC>-config.cfg
Requests for <MAC>-phone.cfg or for <MAC>-web.cfg are responded by the server with 404 Not Found.
Please find my questions below:
1. Since 3cx hides the actual configuration files as per this link ==> here <== and I cannot see where the files are, what is actually happening? I know that the <MAC>.cfg file is generated while provisioning the Phone's MAC address in the 3cx, but what about the <MAC>-config.cfg file? I suspect that the reason is hiding within the <MAC>.cfg file which contains the following:
<device>
<type>phone</type>
<!-- Friendly Name -->
<field name="Name">%%mac_address%%-config.cfg</field>
<deviceconfig filename="%%mac_address%%-config.cfg"><![CDATA[<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
[output cut]
2. What are the actual contents of the <MAC>-config.cfg file? Does it contain every configuration under the lines above? (like for example, <device/> configuration?)
3. What if the Phone cannot send the override files in the Provisioning Server? As per the Admin Guide, they are stored in the phone. In such case, if the user changes a setting, is there a way to override it via the privisioning server or is it stored forever in the phone until a factory reset?
4. In the VVX 400 GUI, I have the options to export All Config or the Device config. What is the difference between those two? What configuration lines does each one contain?
Apologies for the long post.
Thank you in advance,
George
Is there any way to increase the dial time on the trios? We have users complaining that when you make a call it dials the first 3 numbers in seconds.
So cant actually enter a full number unless you are flash.
Thanks
After a power cut the power to the polycom phone was lost.
On turning back on the only action is to say that the application is loaded which has never moved forward.
I have tried holding down various combinations of numbers as suggested elsewhere online but have not been successful
Any advice would be appreciated ...
We are on Version 5.5.2 and have the Trio 8800 and Visual + and are using Zoom's provisioning. We worked with Zoom to get everything working and now we are having the Trio mute itself repeaditly and the video from the collaboration kit drops off after a minute or so of using in when on a call.
I pulled the major error log files and am getting this.

ANY IDEAS on how to fix this?
I have 8 Polycom vvx 301 phones, and none of them will answer a call when you lift the handset. You then have to press a "answer" soft button.
They are primarily running 5.4.5.9750 but I've upgraded one to the latest 5.7.1.2205 version.
They have a single line appearance with a DID pointing to the extension. A call via the DID or the extension behaves the same.
Why don't these phones answer a call like every other phone I've ever used?
I've tried the information here:
and it doesn't work for me.
Having that line in web.cfg doesn't make a difference if it's a 0 or a 1.
Any ideas?
Hello,
I'm considering the Trio 8500 for our three small conference rooms but I'm having trouble finding out if they will function as expected in our environment. Here are the details:
-Trio would be registered as a SIP phone to our hosted provider OnSIP
-Trio would be connected via USB to the conference room PC to function as mic/speaker for Google Meet, GoToMeeting, etc.
The question is, for example, I am in a Google Meet session with the Trio providing mic/speaker functionality via USB, can I then, on the Trio interface bring up the dialer and make a SIP call outbound to bring in a voice participant who would then be merged into the conference for audio?
And the reverse is also a question. If I am using the Trio as a SIP phone and then decide to startup a Google Meet or GTM session, can I merge that audio into the SIP call that I have in progress?
If the answer is yes, are the steps to do this on the Trio fairly simple for users? Or is it a complicated mess? I have been unable to get an answer from any provider or integrator on what I thought would be a common usage.
Thanks in advance for any insight and please ask any questions for more clarification.

I have a VVX 601.
Is there any way that i could upload contacts via the web interface? Perhaps using the config?
I have a Polycom RealPresence Trio 8800
Model 3111-65290-001 rev:A
BootBlock: 3.0.5.0006 (65290-001)
BootL1: Unknown
Updater 5.4.0.XXXX
Everytime I try to update it to a newer software, it goes into an infinite boot loop. I read that there was an issue with cisco switches causing a boot loop error when updating and the solution was to enable lldp. My issue is that I cannot find how to do that with Meraki. I've tried the usb provisioning update but because it is still getting poe from the cisco switch, it keeps going into a boot loop and cannot update.
I've factory reset the thing a couple times and nothing has helped it yet. I tried all the combinations of cdp and lldp inside the 8800 settings itself, but same error. Do we have to purchase the $200 poe injector for this phone just so that it can update?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
I have a user that needs to be able to have call waiting for all calls into the business, but needs to be able to mute the call waiting. His complaint is that the person on the other line will not hear the conversation for the time that the call waiting tone is happening.
Thanks in advance!
I've followed the following post: https://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP-SIP-Phones/FAQ-Add-Zoom-interoperability-to-the-Polycom-Trio/td-p/95278
And was able to get the Zoom button to appear as a second line my Trio 8800.
However, Zoom says you can configure the Trio to be a zoom room, allowing you to schedule zoom meetings via the associated calendar and then one-touch start the meeting.
Has anyone found out how to do this? I've been following the article on zoom: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115001940943-Zoom-Connector-for-Polycom
However it seems to be missing some details, as in how to actually configure the Polycom Trio to pick up the settings configred in the zoom portal and I assume made available by the API server.
Has anyone figured out how to integrate the Trio with Zoom rooms?
