I had a request to get an IP 6000 3 days before an investor meeting. I got the phone set it up and couldn't get through the SonicWALL "SW" on Friday. On Saturday I got through to SW support and we got the phone working. They opened some ports and allowed Enable consistent NAT and Enabled SIP Transformations.
The SIP server is on a public IP and I believe it's a Toshiba strata CIX we have to NAT the IP 6000 which is behind our SonicWALL NSA 2600.
We made several test calls and left feeling ready. I returned Monday morning and the IP 6000 was off line and unable to register.
More calls to SonicWALL and they wanted to upgrade the firmware to the most recent release, this again seemed to fix it and we mad multiple test calls. I left about 1 PM and returned to the phone about 5 PM and it was still working.
This morning the phone was off line and unable to register again before the meeting, lots of back and forth and was unable to get the phone to work before the meeting! We finally got the phone working in another building and brought it to the site of the meeting for a final test it worked just fine. I then unplugged the IP 6000 and waited for a break to install the phone and again it wouldn't register and gave up in frustration. A cell phone was used to call in to the conference bridge on speaker mode and it worked OK, but not as good as the IP 6000 should have.
It seems toggling off "Enable SIP Transformations" and then back on the phone works for a while but I have no faith in it. What is the problem? What could I be missing in the SIP setup?
