1024 bit certificate for provisioning

$

We are using an FTPS server to provision VVX phones. The FTPS server is using a 2048 bit cert. Everything works.

We have a need to provision IP 330 phones with FW 3.5, we will have a separate FTPS server for this. The IP 330 only support 1024 bit certs. You cannot get 1024 bit certs anymore unless you self sign.

Is there a generic 1024 bit certificate that Polycom provides that we could install on our FTPS server which IP 330 with FW 3.5 would trust? This way our communications would at least be encrypted...

Trio firmware 5.9 and h.323

Hi,

I know that the H.323 feature is not officially supported on the Trio but I hope someone can help me here.

I'm trying to use this feature, I have enable H.323 on third line (1st one is SfB, second is a SIP one). I have set a Gatekeeper with auth settings,etc... However, when I make a h323 call with an alias (for example 5000), the call is sended through the Gatekeeper, everything is fine. However, If I make a call using a hostname or an IP (with h323:xxxx), the Trio try to send to call directly to this IP or hostname without passing by the Gatekeeper.

Do you know any settings that can change this behaviour?

Best regards,

Cyrille

Polycom SoundPoint IP 335 endless reboot loop

Hi there,

My Polycom IP 335 phone is now in endless reboot.

The phone was running SIP 3.2.2, running provisioned using IPFX.

The problem started today, when it started it got stuck at updating initial configuration. When there was no activity for more than 3 hours, I plugged out the PoE lan cable, used the key combination 1,3,5,7 to reboot the phone and since then the phone is now in an endless loop.

It starts, shows the Polycom Logo, displays the message "Welcome, start boot in 6 s" and then again reboots, without even initialising the network. Any suggestions?

IP6000 Error, application is not present

Hello all,

I need a little help with the "Error application is not present" on an IP6000. The phone is rebooting and keeps showing this error. It costs me 100$ to get it reflashed by the dealer, so I’m trying to fix it myself.

I read all the links and from my understanding someone deleted the application from the phone.

I created a FTP server on the network with the PlcmSpIp user and pass. I tried and its accessible via: ftp://PlcmSpIp:PlcmSpIp@IPADDR .  I downloaded the software

Polycom UC Software 4.1.1 for SoundPoint IP, SoundStation IP 5000, Duo Phones [Split] and unpacked it in the FTP root.

Entered the Setup on the phone > 456 pass > Provisioning menu, entered the server IP.

In the About I see the phone gets an in from the same VLAN. The installed Firmware is 4.0.7.2514

I don't get what should I do, so the app or software updates from the FTP. I saved the config on the Phone, restarted it, same "Error, application is not present" > Rebooting > Welcome,  x sec until autoboot > Waiting for network > Error and so on ...

I also look at the FTP server and no connections are made by the phone.

What am I missing?

Trio 8800 Multiple SIP providers - Ringcentral, Zoom and Chime

I have searched through for an answer to problem which got us close but still missing one piece.

Goal is to have 3 line setup on the Trio for our converence rooms to quickly connect to different SIP providers.

1. RingCentral

2. Zoom

3. Amazon Chime.

By using the base configuration of Skype for Business, can get #2 and #3 however can't add #1.

By using the configuration with RingCentral we can achieve #1 but can't find a means for getting #2 and #3.

We also want to tie this to 0365 for calendar.

Has anyone been able to solve this issue?

Trio 8800 firmware upgrade - reboot loop

I've just tried to update the first of our Trios to the latest build online (Polycom_UC_Software_5_9_0_10869_AA_Trio8800_release). Update was by USB. Appeared to be going to plan however for the last 90 minutes now the device is showing 'Completing provisioning...' and is then rebooting.

Any advice?

Can't access Polycom Web Configuration Utility for IP 550 soundpoint

I have an 8x8 voip account using Polycom Soundpoint IP550 phones.  Recently, my service went out and after about three hours with 8x8 tech support they were able to get my phone working again (said something with SIP setting on my D-Link Router).  the problem is I can't access the configuration page on my computer by typing the IP address on the phone, and I don't know why.  Is there any documentation on how to get the Polycom Soundpoint IP 550 configuration utility to work?  It worked while they were working on the phones after they were set back to factory settings, but now that they got my phones to work again the configuration utility is not working.

soundstation IP 5000 with Mitel MiVB

Hi,

I have recently installed a Mitel MiVB for a customer who has 7 Soundstation IP 5000 conference units and wanted to keep them on the new system.

I defaulted all the settings on the units and configured the new settings for the Mitel.

Customer is complaining that the sound quality is not very good and I am at a loss as to what it could be.

I have configured the phones as per the Polycom/Mitel interop document (SIP CoE 10-4940-00113)

There seems to be a few questions and answers with other Polycom conf phones regarding codecs and priority, not sure if this is connected or not but would just like some confirmation.

Also is there a specific firmware version for Mitel, or should I just upgrade to the latest version?

The units have Firmware 4.0.10.0689 installed and I can see that the latest is 4.0.14.1388

Any help greatly appreciated

Trio 8500 Constantly Beeping when connected to USB

$

Our Trio 8500 is driving us mad. Every 4 minutes it is emitting a beep sound. After months of trying everything we could to get the beeping to stop, we finally figured out that the beeping is occurring because it is detecting a USB disconnect.

The Trio is connected to a PC in our conference room which is only used during meetings. When the computer goes to sleep, our PC seems to momentarily shut off the USB port. When this occurs, the polycom detects this and emits the beep sound. We figured this out by analyzing the diagnostic log:

0516102629|apps |4|00|USB Cable insertion detected
0516102629|apps |4|00|USB Cable insertion detected
0516103033|apps |4|00|USB Cable insertion detected
0516103034|apps |4|00|USB Cable insertion detected
0516103429|apps |4|00|USB Cable insertion detected
0516103429|apps |4|00|USB Cable insertion detected

Now that we know what is causing it, we have tried several things to stop this from occurring. 1st we updated the advanced Windows Power Options to disable the USB selective suspend setting. That did not work. Next, we tried to update the power management options for every USB device in the Device manager by Right clicking it, clicking properties, clicking the Power Management tab, then unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Still beeps.

I'm at a loss. Is there a way to disable the USB insertion chime? If not, we need this bad! We have resorted to leaving the polycom usb disconnected when not in use. Crappy workaround.

Occasionally, somes VVX phones does not ring and we loose somes calls. Whenever it happens. We can see in a Pcap file a TCP reset coming from the VVX just after the SIP invite was sent from the server to the phone.

Does someone have an idea ?

thank you

Polycom Trio 8800 with Visual+ and Zoom Hybrid won't upgrade firmware

Polycom Trio 8800

Part Number 3111-65290-001 Rev:A
Serial # 64167F75625A
UC Software Version 5.7.1.4095
Generic Profile
Purchased from Insight 2-3 months ago
Configured as a Cisco/Polycom connection with Zoom (Hybrid config)
Phone shows available updates
Have tried to use the webgui to go to 5.9, 5.8.xxx and 5.7.2.3257- all seem to complete after several reboots and then I note the phone is back on 5.7.1.4095.
Tried to use USB to upgrade as well. Successfully boots up as 5.7.2.3257 (missing some of the configs from Zoom) and after a short while- shows upgrading firmware up in the corner, reboots and goes back to 5.7.1.4095. (and gets all of the Zoom configs back from the local proxy)

Noticed the articles that Lync enabled phones have the same behavior and checked the phone config file- the relevent line in the exisiting config file shows as this- "device.prov.lyncDeviceUpdateEnabled="0"" and of course probably is not relevent to my issue. Guessing somehow the Zoom folks are storing all of these settings and pushing them back to the phone (as they should, minus the firmware). I would not be worried about it, but the 5.7.1.4095 version has the bug that sometimes the phone locks up on what sounds like a dial tone- have to reboot it to clear. Happened twice yesterday in our busy meeting room.

I glanced through the logs - see where it is upgrading and reverting- but not much explanation as to why (and maybe just missing it). I am attaching those logs.I did not see anything critical in there.cfg file is sanitized and included as well. Any help I can get is appreciated. Next step would be to wipe the phone and place off of my LAN such that the Zoom proxy server could not see it. Upgrade firmware, reset the password and the static IP and put back on my LAN, but that seems like a lot of work. Also not gauranteed to work. This is my first of many and I have it here in my office - we will have 12 of them spread across our offices soon- can't ask someone to go through that to manage them.

tried to attach the config file- won't let me. Included below.

Soundstation IP 6000 outbound calling failure

Has anyone ever experienced an issue with outbound calls failing to complete after hanging up a previous call? We have an end user reporting an issue where they attempt to make an outbound call directly after hanging up an active call and the call just fails to complete regardless of the extension/number dialed. They have to wait up to a minute or more before they can make another outbound call. NOC engineers have advised they are not seeing the sequence number change on the second outbound call but unable to isolate what would be causing the issue. Firmware is 4.0.8 and we are unable to recreate using a different manufacturer conference unit in same location.

Several IP 7000 devices unable to complete number before call auto dials and fails

Hi

I have several IP 7000's which I am having this issue on. Currently when users press "New Call" then dial 9 for outside line then start dialling their number, the phones seam to start dialling the number before the user has completed entering it.

There is a work around for now which is to enter the full number first and then hit the "Dial" button but it can be quite confusing for staff and visitors alike when they cant make a call in the usual way.

Is there a way to change the timer on dialling the call to allow the users time to enter the whole thing?

Phone Model SoundStation IP 7000
Part Number 3111-40000-001 Rev:P
UC Software Version 4.0.8.1972
BootROM Software Version 5.0.8.0935

These are unmanaged devices so all manually configured SIP phones.

Thanks in advance

Support for WebSockets in VVX web browser

Does the VVX web browser have support for WebSockets?  According to the Web Application Guide, it has partial support for HTML 5 features, but it's not clear whether that includes WebSockets.

I'd like to be able to feed notifications to the browser in real time, as Web Push won't work through firewalls.

External Outbound Caller ID Displaying as Extension Name

Hello,

My office recently switched to the Polycom phone system. The VVX 411 system is up at the Office Manager's desk and all other desks have the VVX 301 phones (15 desks). Currently when an outbound external call is made to someone, our caller ID will show up as the extension's name rather than our general office name.

For example: If I were to call my mother's phone from the conference room phone the caller ID will show up on her phone as "Conference Room"

Is there a way to change this so that all outbound external calls, no matter which extension they are called from, will say our company's name?

Thank you.

VVX 411 BLFs Call Parking (Automata) not working

We are on Jive communication and assign distinct park locations to BLFs on phones.

Jive uses a *37 appended with the specific park extension to park a call. I assign the BLF with presence to a phone with appropriate park extension, for example *37920 and then browse to the phone and change line key type to "Automata" and it works fine for parking and pickup with UC FW 5.7.0.14330. My provider, Jive, states that the current supported version is 5.9.0.9373. With that version I can park the call but it will not pick up using the same BLF key. If I dial *37920, not using the BLF, I can retrieve the call. I have tried various 5.8.x version with the same bad result. I believe the behavior of BLFs with versions of code higher than my 5.7.0.14330 changed and may require a change on the provider's side. Any help would be appreciated.

conference with more then 2 participant.

Hello,

we have the Cisco Callmanager 11.5, where we have already set the maximum number of calls to 8. I read that local conferences are limited to 3 participants. For more than that we need a centralized conference, but I can't find a description of what a centralized conference is or if Callmanger 11.5 is supported. How can we hold conferences with more than 3 people?

Phone Model: Soundstation IP7000

Phone Software Version is 4.0.8

Thanks

I have a VVX 411 with a DND softkey that does nothing when pressed. How would I troubleshoot this?
I set up an SCA on the line with a VVX 401 and it works fine.
